The Maritime Challenge Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization founded in 2001. The Maritime Challenge Foundation mission is to use sailing and maritime heritage as therapeutic tools to improve the emotional well-being of young people affected by cancer or other serious illnesses. Maritime Challenge provides these young people with a positive experience at no financial cost to the participant.

Maritime Challenge opens the door to new adventures. While living aboard a traditional sailing vessel, youth will have the opportunity in an emotionally supportive environment to embrace personal challenges, self-reflection, teamwork, and involvement in the planning of their future.
